SUSTA Opens the Door to a World of Opportunity

The Southern United States Trade Association (SUSTA) helps small companies in the Southern United States promote value-added U.S. food and agricultural products to foreign markets.

We are a non-profit, and our funding is provided by the USDA’s Market Access Program, our Member States, and private companies. Through the Market Access Program, the USDA’s Foreign Agriculture Service partners with SUSTA and small businesses to share the costs of overseas marketing and promotional activities that help build commercial export markets for U.S. agricultural products.

Our export assistance is varied and can be customized to a degree to meet the needs of companies in our region.

Our Programs

SUSTA offers two core programs:

  • Global Events – Opportunities to meet foreign buyers at home and abroad. Many events take place here in the U.S. and are great ways for new to export companies to meet foreign buyers with no international travel. We also organize events in most major markets so that participants travel abroad to take part in.
  • 50% CostShare – Reimbursement of half of eligible marketing expenses to promote your product(s) in foreign markets. This program is most helpful for companies who are already exporting and will benefit from 50% reimbursement of promoting their products overseas.
